Heritage Will Writing Sponsors Test Valley Spartans FC

Heritage Will Writing shares the same values as the Sunday league football team it sponsors, according to its company director.

Adam Johnson, an “experienced campaigner” and a “hard tackling” centre back for Test Valley Spartans, stepped in when his side needed new kit. The 35-year-old, with a penchant for spectacular overhead kicks, decided to embrace his elder statesman’s role by putting something back into a club and a sport he loves. He said: “Test Valley Spartans share a lot of our core business strengths at Heritage Will Writing, a combination of a successful approach with a warm and friendly manner.”

Based at Fleming Park Leisure Centre, Eastleigh, the Spartan Army has won back-to-back promotions to Junior Division 3 of the City of Southampton Sunday Football League and each time received the Merit Award.

Paying tribute to Johnson, team manager Neil Donnison said, “Adam plays a very important role in our team, both with his commanding presence as a centre back and by using his experience to manage our back line. “As an experienced campaigner, Adam is a hard tackling, dedicated performer, willing to help out both on the pitch and off it. “And who can forget last season’s goal scoring overhead kick (against Itchen Saints in the Charlie Godden Cup)?”

Now in his fifth season for the Spartans, Johnson’s finest hour was setting up the equaliser after coming off the bench in the final game last season against Burridge as his side fought back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 and secure the Division 5 championship. “Winning the Merit Award says a lot about the spirit of the team and how we approach our football,” he said. “I am proud to associate my company with such fine achievements from such a welcoming and friendly group.”
