What have Amazon, Uber and Kings Court Trust got in common?

Amazon began doing it by selling books online. Uber began doing it by using smartphone technology to undercut London’s traditional black cabs. And now Kings Court Trust is doing it in estate administration.

It’s all about disruption. This word has been used, some say incorrectly, to describe new businesses that enter a market and displace the established system with a brand new way of working.

Kings Court Trust says it “set out to disrupt, challenge and change (estate administration) for the better by putting the family first”. And it wants to provide “the best possible service for the family at a difficult time”.

It is a fact that older people in the UK have significantly more wealth at their disposal than in generations past. That means even larger estates are being passed on to children and grandchildren. And as they get larger, they usually get more complex. That makes it even more important that independent financial advice is sought to maximise returns and minimise inheritance tax.

Taxi – sorry, make that Uber – for traditional estate administrators!
