Sad Court Battle Over Actor Robin Williams’ Will

If this can happen WITH a will, imagine the problems of NOT having one.

A year after the Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams committed suicide, his family are still locked in a bitter legal dispute over the wording of his will.

The star of Good Morning, Vietnam, Mrs Doubtfire and – perhaps ironically – Good Will Hunting had been suffering with depression and had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease before killing himself at the age of 63.

Williams left his personal belongings and memorabilia to Zak, Zelda and Cody, his three children from previous marriages, and the marital home near San Francisco to his third wife Susan Schneider Williams.

And that’s where the problems started. The children disagreed with Susan’s argument that any property in that house should be hers. And the family were also at loggerheads over whether ‘jewellery’ mentioned in the will included watches.

A year on from his death, Susan’s request to increase a reserve fund used for her luxury home’s running costs is now going through the courts. It’s all a bit sad.
