Adam Johnson Adds Marriage Arranger to His CV

Marriage arranging is not normally part of a will writer’s brief but Adam Johnson knows of four couples who tied the knot after chatting to him.

The company director of Heritage Will Writing explained that unmarried partners are especially shocked when told how the rules work in the absence of a will.

“I’m not sure it’s the most romantic of reasons to get married,” he smiled. “But across the four couples they will have saved over £850,000 in taxes.”

Over the years – and completely free of charge – Adam has addressed Women’s Institutes, Royal British Legion clubs, church groups and care homes on subjects including estate planning, lasting powers of attorney, long term care fees, inheritance tax planning, will writing and intestacy.

Adam said: “I really enjoy doing them and I also find them cathartic. I talk at 100mph and so public speaking is a chance for me to bring everything under control in order to deliver a clear message about will writing.

“Each group is unique in terms of what vexes them and interests them. There are a lot of preconceived ideas about how wills work.”

Small or large groups can book free talks lasting about an hour by ringing Adam at Heritage Will Writing on 02380 879243.
